Chattacon is your ticket to an unforgettable pop culture adventure in the heart of Tennessee!

To celebrate, Ryan created this sketch cover featuring Chattacon guest Diedrich Bader’s character Lawrence from Office Space. Make sure you stop by Ryan’s table and say hi!

MvZ #2 Raffide Variant!

For those not following us on socials, we’re excited to unveil a new Memphis vs. Zombies #2 Variant, with artwork by Guilherme Raffide! This cover will be available as:

• Regular Cover B - Enjoy the bright lights of Beale Street in full color! This pulp-inspired cover is stunning.

• Foil Noir Variant - This will be a 40-limit print run with a signed COA. The Noir Variants sold out fast last time, and this one is sure to be no exception.

Shoutouts to Our Local Friends & Supporters

Comics don’t happen in a vacuum, and Memphis has one of the best creative communities around. We want to shine a light on some of our favorite people, places & businesses who help keep the culture thriving.

Mid-South Cartoonists Association (MSCA): For over 35 years, this group has been a home base for artists, writers, and fans of comics in Memphis. From monthly meetings to art shows, live sketch nights, and supporting local conventions, the MSCA has kept cartooning alive and thriving in the Mid-South. They’ve been mentors, collaborators, and friends to countless creators, including us here at Thrill!

The 901 Family of Stores: Between 901 Comics, 901 Games, 901 Toys, and the East location, they’ve built a network that celebrates comics, games and fandom of all kinds. They’re more than shops - they’re gathering spots for the community.

Java Cabana: A long-standing Midtown Memphis favorite, this coffeehouse has always been a hub for creatives. It’s the perfect place to write, sketch, or meet up with fellow Thrill Seekers over a cup of something strong and delicious.

Saturday Night Gaming: This crew continues to weave incredible worlds and stories through tabletop roleplaying. Whether you’re a gamer or just love good storytelling, they’re always bringing something new to the table.

Choose901: More than just a slogan, Choose901 is a movement that celebrates everything that makes Memphis great. From shining a light on local creators and businesses to championing community events, they’ve been a huge force in lifting up voices across the city. We’re grateful for their support of the arts scene and proud to be part of the Memphis story they help tell every day.

In Memphis, September 1st is more than just a date on the calendar. It’s a reminder of the culture, resilience, and community that makes Memphis unique. At Thrill Comics, Memphis is the heart of everything we do. From the soul-infused pages of Blues: Lore & Legends to the zombie-filled streets of Memphis vs. Zombies, every story is a love letter to the city.

So today, we’re celebrating the fans, friends, artists, musicians, and neighbors who keep Memphis moving. Thank you for supporting indie comics and believing in the Thrill vision. We’re proud to create stories that come straight out of the 901 and carry the soul of Memphis wherever they go.

Black Cat, Hoot Owl Blues

We’re beyond excited to announce the creative team for on of our upcoming stories: Black Cat, Hoot Owl Blues. Written by Justin Chatham and illustrated by Luis Santamarina, this supernatural thriller dives deeper into the haunted corners of Memphis. The story follows Detective Hershel Cross, a man hardened by the city's shadows, and the legendary blues singer Ma Rainey, who brings her own mysterious power to the case. Together, they work to track down a killer whose crimes echo with something dark and more otherworldly.

The series blends noir, blues history, and supernatural terror in a way that only Thrill Comics (and Ryan Coogler) can deliver, and will unfold over multiple issues of Blues: Lore & Legends. It’s the kind of story that feels at home in Memphis - where music, myth and mystery are never too far apart. We can’t wait to share more details as art production gets under way.

To accompany this announcement, we’re also unveiling Luis’ cover artwork for Blues: Lore & Legends #1. This striking piece features Ma Rainey belting out a timeless song as spirits conjure and swirl around her.

ONE LAST COVER REVEAL

We’re excited to unveil the Foil Thrill Variant Cover for Blues: Lore & Legends #1! This special edition features artwork by Ryan Ladner and is printed in a stunning foil finish that makes every detail pop!

This variant will be strictly limited to 60 copies - once they’re gone, they’re gone. It’s a perfect collector’s piece for fans who want a little extra shine in their collection and a true piece of Thrill Comics history.
